July 13, 1964 ~ March 19, 2017 (age 52) 52 Years Old

FLEDER, April Lynn, 52, of Steubenville, died on Sunday, March 19, 2017, at her home under Family and Charity Hospice care.

 She was born July 13, 1964 in Steubenville and was Catholic by faith.  April was a member of Triumph of the Cross Parrish (Holy Rosary) and its CWC.

 April graduated from Steubenville High School, Class of 1982, where she was a member of the “Best Band in Buckeye Land” as Head Majorette and Flutist.

 She worked for both Steubenville City Schools and Indian Creek Schools in the Treasurer’s Offices.  She was an avid Bowler and past member of the Steubenville Women's Bowling Association.

April was preceded in death by her father Richard G. Humes in 1965, her infant daughter Nicole Lynn in 1996 and her sister Robin Kay Humes in 2011.

 Surviving are her husband Frank (Sam) Fleder; mother Donna (Danver) Kaine and her husband Ronald (“Dad”) of Steubenville; one brother Ron Kaine of Steubenville; two sisters, Carol Kaine of Steubenville and Sharon (Jay) LaRoche of Bellaire; four nieces, four nephews and two goddaughters.

 April was a hard worker and a loving mother to her daughter Nicole.  She was always quick to help family and friends and loved her cats and Shetland Sheepdogs (Shelties).  April enjoyed the outdoors and especially summertime.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 22nd from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville.

Mass of Christian burial at Triumph of the Cross Church (Holy Rosary) 11:30 am on Thursday, March 23rd.  Fr. Tom Nau, officiant.

 Entombment in Union Cemetery Mausoleum next to her infant daughter Nicole Lynn. A vigil will be Wednesday at 3:45 pm.

Memorial donations may be made to the Jefferson County Humane Society, Charity Hospice or The Tony Teramana Cancer Center.

April’s family wishes to express their thanks to so many for the love, prayers, cards and support.  A special thanks to Charity Hospice personnel for the excellent personalized care and Fr. Nau for visiting and praying with us.

Following services, family and friends are invited to Triumph of The Cross (Holy Rosary) Church Hall for refreshments.
