Clara Marie Johnson

Clara Marie Johnson, 73, of Wintersville, died Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Trinity West.
She was born August 1, 1942 in Steubenville. She is the daughter of the late Alex and Pearl Konopka Tverbut. Also preceding her in death were her husband, George Johnson; cousin, Mary Ann Loyer; aunts, Clara Chilenski and Marie Miller. 
Clara Marie was a single mom who raised her son while being a payroll clerk at Koppers, She held various offices while being a member of the USWA.   She retired after 33 years.
Surviving are one son, Mark (Vicki) Rest of Wintersville; one brother, Stanley âStasã (Shirley) Tverbut of Wintersville; grandchildren, Mark and Luke Rest; nephew, Jeff (MaryAnn) Tverbut of Wintersville; and great- nephew, Matthew Tverbut.
Clara Marie was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, volunteered at the Prime Time Center, and was a former member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church where she typed the weekly bulletin for many years. 
Calling hours are Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Monday 9:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Msgr. Gerald Calovini will celebrate. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A vigil service will be held Sunday at 4:45 pm.
