Eleanor J. Boychan, 86, of Steubenville died Saturday surrounded by her loving family at Valley Hospice. She was born February 13, 1931 in Steubenville. She is the daughter of the late Thomas and Irene Bungard McCartney. Also preceding her in death are her husband Thomas Boychan, Sr. and three brothers Thomas, Richard and Robert McCartney.
Eleanor was a loving wife and mother. She will be remembered by her loving smile and radiant personality and was an avid Notre Dame fan.
Eleanor was a retired bank teller at Union Bank of 20 years. She was a member of Triumph of the Cross Parish. She was also a graduate of Catholic Central High School class of 1949.
Surviving are four children Susan (Fred) Schoppe of New Alexandria, OH, Linda (Richard) Budney of Weirton, Thoma (Julie) Boychan Jr. of Cincinnati, Daivd (Leslie) Boychan, thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 3-7 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Thursday 10 am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Fr. Tom Nau will celebrate. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A vigil service will be held Wednesday at 3 pm.
