Francesca "Fran" Zamana

Francesca "Fran" Pignalitti Zamana, 63, of Steubenville died Wednesday, July 5, 2017.  
She was born Feb. 11, 1954, to Julio C. and Irma (Fornsaglio) Pignalitti.  
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Stephen "Steve" Zamana, whom she married Dec. 16, 1977, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Steubenville.  
She was also preceded by in-laws, William and Catherine Zamana.  
Fran is survived by her loving daughters, Angela (Fred) Younce of Steubenville, Julie (Michael) Conlon of Toronto and Mia (Gary) Stubbs II of Steubenville; grandchildren, Norah and Jacob-Stephen Younce; sister-in-law, Mary Kay (Jim) Sweeney; niece, Jamie (Jeff) Proya; and many cousins and friends. 
She graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1972 and the Ohio Valley General Hospital School of Nursing-Wheeling, WV, in 1975.  
She began her 42-year nursing career at St. John’s Hospital and spent the next 32 years as the school nurse for the Catholic Schools of Jefferson County.  
She spent the last 16 years as the school nurse at her beloved alma mater CCHS before her retirement in 2016.  
She was a Catholic by faith and a devout member of Triumph of the Cross-Holy Rosary Parish. 
She was a long time member of the former St. Anthony Catholic Church serving on parish council and the social committee.  
She served as secretary of the former parochial league athletic commission.
She loved spending time with her family and friends, attending CCHS events, ducks, chocolate and Diet Coke.  She found the most joy with "HER" Norah and Jakey.  
She was the most incredible mother and Nunna and will be greatly missed.  
Calling hours Sunday, July 9, 2017, 3-7 p.m. Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel.  
A funeral liturgy with mass will be celebrated Monday, July 10, 2017, at  11:30 a.m., Holy Rosary Church, Fr. Thomas Nau celebrant.  
There will be a vigil service at 6:45 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
