James V. Hartzell

James (Jim) V. Hartzell, 75, of Steubenville died Friday, March 9, 2018 at Trinity West. He was born August 5, 1942 in Martins Ferry. He is the son of the late Raymond "Pete" and Alice Henwood Hartzell. He is also preceded in death by his stepmother Clara Goode Hartzell and sister Lois Roth.

Jim was a devout Catholic being a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. He was retired from Signode Corp. where he was a press operator. He was also a longtime coach for the Steel Valley Football League and Little League Baseball. Jim was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. 

He was a devoted husband, father,  grandfather,  uncle, and friend.

Surviving are his wife Alice Marcino Hartzell, whom he married April 25, 1964; two sons Jamie (Marcy) Hartzell of Triadelphia, WV and Jodie (Tiffany) Hartzell of Wintersville; one sister Phyllis (Paul) Bodo Kolopajlo of Steubenville; six grandchildren Peter, Lucy, Haley, Justin, Margaret, and Andrew.

A funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Monday at 11 am at St. Peter Catholic Church; Fr. Tim Huffman will celebrate. Burial will follow in Center Chapel Cemetery.
