James F. Spence

James F. Spence, 76, of Steubenville died Tuesday October 11, 2016 at the VA, Oakland. He was born September 17, 1940 in Steubenville. He is the son of the late Robert S. Sr. and Mary D. Kearney Spence. James was a member of Triumph of the Cross Catholic Church, was the retired facilities maintenance supervisor at the Medallion Club in Westerville, OH and was also formerly an adjuster with Grange Insurance. Surviving are three brothers Bob Jr. (Susan) of Mt. Pleasant, Chuck (Mary Ellyn) of Cincinnati and Frank (Lucy) of Steubenville; two sisters Mary Alice Spence Hinerman of Steubenville, Patti (Rich) Brogan of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and many nieces and nephews. James was a member of the Argonne American Legion Post 33, the AMVETS Ohio Post 89, the VFW Post 80, the FOE of Columbus, the Oldsmobile Club of America and the Vintage Whizzer Motor bike club. James served his country in Army during the Vietnam Era War. Calling hours will be held Monday from 4-8 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 am at Holy Rosary Church, Fr. Tom Nau will celebrate. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
