Jo Ann C. Moore

Jo Ann Evans Moore, 89 of Steubenville, Ohio passed away peacefully on Thursday December 21, 2017. Born August 5, 1928 in Steubenville, Ohio she was the eldest daughter of the late Harold J. and Katherine James Evans. Jo Ann was a homemaker and the matriarch of her family.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years Ralph Moore, son Jamie (Connie) Moore of Steubenville, two daughters Kim Moore of Steubenville and Allison Moore of Columbus, three beloved grandchildren, Amanda Gordon, Katherine and Evan Moore, and sister Mary Kay (Larry) Morgan of Green Valley, Arizona, and nieces and nephews.

Jo Ann will always be remembered for her dedication to the church and for helping others. She was instrumental in starting the Steubenville Ohio Food Bank and served in multiple faith based leadership roles. She was honored in the early 2000’s by the community for her tireless volunteer efforts. Jo Ann was an active member of Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church and Kings Daughters Organization. She served as president of the Upper Ohio Valley Presbytery, board member of the Steubenville Salvation Army, and was on the pastoral care team at Trinity Hospital.

Jo Ann was an impactful Godly woman who will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Family will receive friends at Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd. Steubenville, Ohio on Tuesday December 26 from 4-7pm. A short memorial service will be held at Mosti Funeral Home on Wednesday December 27 at 11:00am. A private burial will follow at Union Cemetery.
