June Furda

June M. Furda, 52, of Wintersville, died Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born June 19, 1964 in New York, NY. She is the daughter of the late James F. and Esther Grubert Leahy. June was a recreational therapist at Trinity Medical Center East and was a member of Triumph of the Cross Catholic Church. Surviving are her husband, Michael E. Furda, whom she married August 26, 1989; one son, Michael J. Furda of Dover; two daughters, Christina Furda of Ann Arbor, MI and Jessica Furda of Wintersville; one brother, James Leahy of Wantagh, NY; seven sisters, Eileen (Francis) Skehan of Wantagh, Mary (Frank) Scorzello of White Plains, NY, Kathleen (Thomas) Kerley of Wantagh, Jacqueline Kelley of Rye Brook, NY, Elizabeth (Anthony) Greco of Wantagh, Julia (Ricky) Rende of Wantagh and Esther (Cormac) Gerrity of Lindenhurst, NY. June was actively involved in volleyball coaching, mentoring and officiating. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 6-8 p.m. also on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Saturday 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Fr. Ryan Gray will celebrate. Burial will follow at St. Andrews Orthodox Church Cemetery.
