Louis John "Jack" Herceg

Louis John "Jack" Herceg, 61, of East Springfield died Friday, January 19, 2018 at Trinity West ER. He was born August 22, 1956 in Steubenville. He is the son of the late Louis and June Kenneweg Herceg.

Jack was the superintendent of the Water Department for the Village of Wintersville. He was an active member of Jefferson County Sportsman Association, the VFW in Smithfield and Wintersville United Methodist Church. Jack was also an avid deer hunter and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. 

Surviving are his wife JoLanna Sutak Herceg, whom he married September 14, 1979; one daughter Jacque (Matthew) Visyak of Morgantown, WV; two brothers Kenneth (Marie) Crowley, Robert (Rebecca) Herceg both of Steubenville and one grandson Matthew Visyak II.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 3-7 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 am at the funeral home, Rev. Jerry Ernst will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Mingo Jct.
