Louis J. Qualtire, 91, of Wintersville, died Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the Laurels.
He was born April 23, 1925 in Mingo Junction. He is the son of the late Alexander and Mary Pizzoferrato Qualtire. Also preceding him in death are his wife, Rose Andriano Qualtire; two brothers, Andrew and Guy Qualtire; and two sisters, Jeannie Ward and Lucy DiFabbio.
Louis was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel and the Kroger Co. He also served his country in the Navy during WWII.
Surviving are one son, Alexander M. Qualtire of Steubenville; four daughters, Sara (Rob) Malcolm of Wintersville, Claudia Qualtire of California, Julie (Mike) Krupinski of Cadiz and Maria (Tim) Hamilton of Steubenville; grandchildren, Robby, Michael, Emily and Grace; great grandchildren, Sylar and Amsley; brother-in-law, James (Barb) Karamanolis of Wintersville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Many extended family, friends, and acquaintances. Louie "the fish man" touched many lives.
Calling hours will be held Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until time of services at 12:30 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. Fr. Michael Gossett will officiate. Burial will be private at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
