William "Bill" Apesos

William "Bill" Apesos, 91, of Steubenville died May 10, 2016 at Weirton Medical Center. He was born January 25, 1925 in McKeesport, PA. He is the son of the late Sideris and Argeta Maris Apesos. Bill is also preceded in death by his wife Stella Matis Apesos, and two brothers Thomas and Theodore.

Bill was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, was retired from Weirton Steel Mason Gang and was a U.S. Army WWII Veteran.

Surviving are one son Thomas W. Apesos of Weirton; one daughter Elaine (John) Owens of Chillicothe, OH; two brothers Markos "Mike" Apesos of Weirton and Chris (Marlene) Apesos of Baltimore, MD; one sister Dorothy (Nick) Cucuras of Warren, OH; grandchildren Lauren, Joshua, Sean, Jennifer and Matthew (Addy); three great grandchildren McKinley, Mara and Harrison.

Bill was a 50-year member of Pilgrim Lodge #691 F&AM, Steubenville Shrine Club and Aladdin Shine Club. He was also a member of Steubenville Commandery #11, AHEPA Chapter 92, American Legion Argonne Post 33, Weirton Steel 25-Year Club, Shriner's Motor patrol, Tri-State Writers Society and the Gadabouts.

Calling hours will be held Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. Visitation will continue Saturday at 10 am until time of services at 11 am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 300 S. Fourth St., Steubenville. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery. There will be an AHEPA Service at 3:30 pm, a Masonic Service at 6:45 pm and a Trisagion Service at 7:30 pm.
