Albert Cellini, Sr.

Albert A. Cellini, Sr. 92 of Steubenville died Friday August 4, 2017 at Valley Hospice. He was born November 28, 1924 in Midland, PA. He is the son of the late Joseph and Clara Cipriani Cellini. Al is also preceded in death by his brother, Angelo , sisters, Connie Cellini, Dora Petronio, and Teresa Nohe, and a granddaughter, Erika. Al was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, was retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, and served his country in the US Navy during WWII. Surviving are his wife, Lydia "Lil" Cardelli Cellini whom he married October 1, 1966, 4 sons, Albert "Sonny" (Diane) Cellini, Jr. of Utah, Charles of Pittsburgh, Gary (Donna) Switzer of Steubenville, and Charlie Switzer of Boardman. Sister's, Evelyn (Frank) Underberger of Midland, PA, Antoinette (Raymond) Shutey of Rochester, PA, Flora Molinaro and Ellen (Jack) Conway, both of Ohioview, PA. Brother in law, Mario Petronio of Monessen, PA Four grandchildren, Nathan, Amy, Alena, and Reena and three great grandchildren, Lee, Braylon, and Alexa. Al was a member of the former St. Pius the X Catholic Church and it's St. Francis society and where he also worked bingo for the church and the former Aquinas school for 33 years, Italian American Culture Club, the Funseekers, the Fourseasons., and the K of C #472. Al was also an avid Notre Dame, Steelers, and Catholic Central High School fan. Calling hours are Monday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel. A funeral liturgy with mass will be celebrated 10 am Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Msgr. Gerald Calovini, celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
