Alice E. Casini

May 4, 1924 ~ April 21, 2019 (age 94)

Alice E. Casini, 94, of Steubenville died Sunday, April 21, 2019 at Valley Hospice.
She was born May 4, 1924 in Flori, Del Sannio, Compobasso, Italy. She is the daughter of the late Charles and Antonette Gentile DiPalma. Also preceding her in death were her husband Lino Casini; brothers, Carlo, Andy and Dominic DiPalma.
Surviving are two daughters, Desolina "Desi" Gampolo of Steubenville, and Marlene Casini of Columbus, OH; two grandsons, Jeff (Carla) Gampolo and Brian (Deborah) Gampolo; three great- grandchildren, Elizabeth, Megan and Joshua. Surviving are in-laws, Elizabeth Casini Dalesio of Follansbee, Marie DiPalma of Wintersville, Maxine DiPalma of Steubenville, and Marie Belisari of Rome, Italy; 12 nephews and six nieces.
Graduate of Steubenville High School, Alice was the co-owner of the former Casini Tailoring until 1975.
She was a member of the former St. Anthony's Catholic Church and current member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She was a volunteer at Teramana Cancer Center and a 50 year volunteer at Trinity West Hospital.  She was a member of the Legion of Mary Society, Catholic Women's Club and St. Francis Society. She was also a past member of the Steubenville Art Association.
She gave of her time to numerous other volunteer activities including serving on Bishop Mussio Annual Bishop's Ball steering committee. One of the founding members of Meals on Wheels program in Jefferson County, 40 year volunteer for the American Red Cross, and volunteer for RSVP, retired senior volunteer program.
Calling hours Tuesday, 4-7 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, Steubenville at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. Msgr. Gerald Calovini, celebrant.  Entombment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  There will be a vigil service at 6:45 pm Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Teramana Cancer Center TEAR Fund or Catholic Central High School, Steubenville.
