Angeline "Angie" P. Marchetta, 78, of Mingo Jct., died peacefully at the home of her son Mark, surrounded by her loving family after a short battle with cancer. She was born August 15, 1941 in Steubenville. She is the daughter of the late Joseph and Lena Ciafradone Caranda. She was also preceded in death by her son James J. Marchetta.
Angie was a homemaker and was Catholic by faith. She enjoyed cooking Italian food and baking cookies. She was well known for her meatball hoagies. Angie was an avid football fan of Steubenville Catholic Central, Notre Dame and the Steelers. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband James A. Marchetta, whom she married June 18, 1960; two sons Mark (Loretta) of Hopedale and Anthony (Debby) of Brecksville; two sisters JoAnn (Ernest) Cicone of Mingo Jct. and Rose (Charles) Delaney of Weirton; five grandchildren Mark Jr., Austin, Anthony, Abriana and Dominick.
Calling hours will be Friday from 5-8 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. Also, on Saturday from 11:30 am until time of services at 12:30 pm at the funeral home, Msgr. John Kolesar will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
