Anna S. Bates

Anna S. Bates, 95, of Steubenville died Thursday, October 12, 2017, at the Carriage Inn of Steubenville. She was born April 7, 1922 in Christopher, IL. She is the daughter of the late Steve and Anna Fedor Sogan. Also preceding her in death are her husband Willford "Doc" Bates; one son Ted Bates; one daughter Barbara Lucas; four brothers George, Steve, Victor and John Sogan.  

Anna was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Brilliant and was retired ward clerk and nurse's aide at Ohio Valley Hospital.

Surviving are one son Dana (Laura) Bates of Uniontown, OH; one daughter Karyn (Richard) Zappala of Twinsburg, OH; three grandchildren Jeremiah (Stacey) Lucas, Todd (Rita) Bates and Sarah Lucas; five great grandchildren Colin, Skyler, Annajean, Adalynn and Jackson.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 12 to 2 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral service will be held Monday at 10 am at the funeral home, Pastor Ken Sickle will officiate. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery.
