Antoinette M. Galownia

Antoinette M. Urbano Galownia, 98, of Steubenville left her family and friends peacefully Monday, March 11, 2019 at her home. She was born June 12, 1920 in Steubenville. She is the daughter of the late Luigi Urbano and Natalina Urbano Fortuna. She is also preceded in death by her husband Alfons(Fagan)Galownia who were married for 65 years before he passed in February of 2014 ; daughter Barbara Ann Galownia who passed away  in 1969; brothers Rosario, George, James and Armand Urbano.: all of her family who will be reunited with her.

Antoinette was a homemaker and always put her family 1st. She was a kind and gentle lady but loved to joke with the “girls”. Antoinette’s family was so blessed to have her for so many years. They will cherish the many memories they will have of her and will miss her deeply.

Surviving are one daughter Mary Jo (Rick) Lorenzi of Steubenville; two grandchildren Ashley (Kevin) Johnston of Cannonsburg, PA and Dima Lorenzi of Steubenville; two great grandchildren Ruby and Sylvia Johnston of Cannonsburg, PA; one sister Rose Marie (Joseph) Clause of Steubenville; a very special niece, Renee who always made her auntie smile; a special nephew and niece, Joey and Jane who would take her for rides on their quad. 

The family would like to give a special thanks to the wonderful team of girls who loved and cared for Antoinette at home day and night;Nicole, Dana, Katrinka, Maria W., Maria D., Hannah, Alyssa, Bella; the Valley Hospice girls; Kristin, Lisa, Brittney, Mary and Stephanie. They all treated my mom like family and made her last few months comfortable at home. We couldn’t have done it without you. Your support and kindness is so much appreciated.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 10 am until 12 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. Funeral liturgy with Mass will follow at 12:30 pm at Holy Family Catholic Church, Msgr. Gerald Calovini will celebrate. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
