Ernest G. Blancato, Sr.

Ernest Gaetano Blancato Sr. 89 of Bloomingdale, OH, died Friday February 23, 2018 at Weirton Medical Center. He was born May 15, 1928 in Steubenville. He is the son of the late Gaetano and Jennie Pate Blancato. Ernest is also preceded in death by his wife Barbara, five brothers, Steve, Joe, Guy, Frank, and Tony, four sisters, Antoinette Mehalik, Catherine Petrollo, Mary Faccuito, and Rose Nepa. the mother of his children, Bessie, one infant daughter, Rosalind and two grandchildren, Christopher Flores and Danielle Rowan. Ernest was retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, served his country in US Army during WWII, and was a long time member of the Mingo Sportsman Club. Surviving are his children, Catherine (Jim) Weidler, Jennifer Blancato, Ernest (Suk) Blancato, Jr, Debra Culp and her companion, John Wiley, Steve Blancato and his companion, Tammy Long, and Anna (Harry) Reese. Brothers William Blancato, Richard (Pam) Blancato and sister Angeline Holbrook. 9 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren. Calling hours are Tuesday 3 p.m. until the time of services at 6 p.m. Fr.
