Gene Campana

Gene D. Campana, 97, of Wintersville died Friday, December 29, 2017 at Trinity West. He was born October 24, 1920 in Steubenville. He is the son of the late Eustachio and Tomasina Madama Campana. Gene is also preceeded in death by his wife, Violet Stankiewicz Campana. Three brothers, Tony, Albert and Joseph Campana, and two sisters Mary Posar and Ann Benos. Great-granddaughter, Baby Lucy Marie Quinn.

Gene was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He is retired from Weirton Steel with 34 years of service. He served in the US Marine Corps during World War II. Surviving are one son Robert (Lorrie) Campana with whom he resided, and one daughter Marlene (James) Niehaus of Bellaire. Twin sister Edith Vallis of Mingo Junction. Grandchildren Angela (Ryan) Quinn, Michael (Shanna) Franke, Gena Niehaus, Christian (Jessica) Niehaus. Great-Grandchildren Delani Reynolds, Christopher Reynolds, Jack Quinn, Michael Campana, Cameron Franke, Addison Armann. Also surviving is his household buddy, Raymond "Pint" DelFiandra.

He was an avid reader. He loved fishing and bowling.

Calling hours are Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church afrom 11:00am until the time of mass at 1:00pm. Entombment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Charity Hospice. Offer condolences at www.mostifuneralhome.com.
