Jean John Obituary

Jean Ann Marie John, 70, of Wintersville passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at her home. She was born in Steubenville on August 21, 1948, the only daughter of the late Ellis and Irene Orris. Also preceding her in death is her first husband Mitchell Perna.

She was a lifelong member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Wintersville. She was a graduate of Steubenville Catholic Central High School class of 1966 and the College of Steubenville. Jean was employed for many years as a medical technologist at the former Ohio Valley Hospital in Steubenville and was an active member of Women in Action Against Cancer. She enjoyed her flower gardens, traveling, visiting her grandchildren and “power” shopping.

Surviving are her husband of 41 years Gerald John; son Patrick (Tiffiny) John of North Las Vegas; daughter Jeanette (Chad) Henderson; two grandchildren Kylie and Dominic all of Parma, OH; her brother Robert (Margaret) Orris of Wichita, KS.

Family and friends will be received Saturday, August, 24 at Blessed Sacrament Church from 9:30 am until time of funeral liturgy with Mass at 11:30 am, Fr. Michael Gossett will celebrate. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
