John W. “Skeets” Costantini, 90, of Steubenville, passed away Friday June 21, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was born July 24, 1928 in Steubenville to the late Piero Costantini and Louise Giaquinto.
John served in the Army for two years in Anchorage, Alaska. John was always a hard worker, starting at the age of nine when he sold newspapers in downtown Steubenville. For 44 years he worked as a crane operator at Wheeling–Pittsburgh Steel, never missing a single day of work. John was a member of Triumph of the Cross Parish (Holy Rosary) and a living example of God’s love. John enjoyed fishing, gardening, and was enthusiastic about owning and riding his horses.
John is survived by his wife of 68 years, Virginia (Julian) Costantini, two daughters, Kim (Paul) Malesick of Canton, OH and Paula (Dan) Holt of Massillon, OH, two daughters-in-law, Toni Costantini of Wintersville, OH and Cheryl Costantini of Follansbee, WV, four grandchildren, Jonathan Costantini of Follansbee, WV, Nicholas Costantini of Clinton, PA, Jessica (Brad) Tester of Massillon, OH and Jennifer (Anthony) Ardelea of Canton, OH, four great grandchildren, Ava Tester, Mason Tester, Jaden Ardelea and Austin Ardelea and numerous nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his son Peter Costantini, three brothers, Reno Costantini, Anthony Costantini, Carmen Costantini, and two sisters, Mallie Controguerra and Lillian Colaiacovo.
There will be a gathering of family and friends in the church vestibule at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25th at Triumph of the Cross Parish (Holy Rosary) located at 280 Rosemont Ave, Steubenville, OH 43952.
