"Baldy" was a great inspiration to me. I started to officiate baseball in 1972 and Baldy helped me tremendously as a new and in-experienced umpire. He was just a great person to be around and always had nice things to say about everyone. I was very sad to hear of his passing. My deepest sympathy to his family.

My Condolences to Baldy's family. I worked with Baldy at the BOF for 20 years and played quite a few rounds of golf with him.

Just yesterday, as I spent the afternoon at the first baseball practice of the season for my grandson's team, I thought of all the wonderful men who coached us in Steubenville. Baldy was one of them and taught us to love the sport. I will think of him this season in gratitude.
