Nancy Jane Kaufmann, 80, of Steubenville died September 17, at Trinity Medical Center. Nancy was born on February 16, 1939 in Steubenville, the daughter of the late Chester A. Kaufmann and Margaret Mark Kaufmann Dougherty. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Dr. William Kaufmann and Raymond Kaufmann.
Nancy is survived by nephews William (Bev) Kaufmann, Michael (Linda) Kaufmann, Jeff (June) Kaufmann, Eric (MaryLynn) Kaufmann, Brent Kaufmann, and nieces Chris (Vince) Lawrence and Cathleen (Dennis) HIckle. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Doris and Barbara Kaufmann, 12 great-nieces and nephews, 4 great-great nieces and nephews and many cousins.
Nancy worked at The Herald Star for 60 years, where she was an outstanding employee, named employee of the month too many times to count, and was a great mentor to the many employees who had the pleasure of working with her.
She was a member of St Peter’s Catholic Church in Steubenville.
Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Saturday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church at 10 am, Fr. Tim Huffman will celebrate. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A vigil service will be held Friday at 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Catholic Church or the Jefferson County Animal Shelter.
