Norma Jean Smith

Norma Jean Smith joined her loving husband of 41 years Howard "Howdy" Smith in Heaven, on Monday, December 9, 2019 at Trinity Medical Center West. She was born March 11, 1937 in Steubenville. She is the daughter of the late Frank and Johanna Ruth Fromm Drazic. Also preceding her in death is her brother she adored Carl Baer Jr.

Norma was the owner and operator of the former Aetna Freight Lines and the Juvenile Shoe Shop in downtown Steubenville. She enjoyed spending time with her family and caring for her furry buddies: Brutus and Bradley. She was known for greeting friends and family from her rocking chair on her front porch with a loving and warm personality.  

Surviving are three daughters Brenda Albarano, Johanna (Paul) Harbert and Sheila (Jim) Mirabella all of Steubenville; six grandchildren Jonathan (Krissi) Albarano, Brandon Albarano, Micca (Colby Gainer)Mirabella, Shayna Mirabella, Benjamin Harbert, Nicholas Harbert and her devoted nieces Debby Baer and Diane (Mark) Roller.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 3-6 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, Msgr. Gerald Calovini will celebrate. Entombment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A vigil service will be Thursday at 5:45 pm.
