Pete A. Ferrise

Pete A. Ferrise, 89, of Steubenville died Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Weirton Geriatric Center. He was born November 1, 1928 in Clarksburg, WV. The long goodbye is now complete. Our beloved husband, father and grandfather has finished the journey leading to Jesus, his Lord and Savior. Pete will be remembered as a God-fearing, selfless man whose love for his family was beyond vast, while those who considered him a friend were countless. 

Pete is preceded in death by his parents Bernardo and Rose Stumpo Ferrise, one brother Frank Ferrise and one sister Bernadine "Bernie" Treglia.

Pete was retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, where he worked as a millwright. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Knights of St. Anthony, American Legion Post 33 and Theta Chi Alpha. Pete also served his country in the Army. Pete was a graduate of Catholic Central High School class of 1948.

Pete is survived by his wife Marie Saggio Ferrise, whom he married June 25, 1960; one son Peter "Petie" Michael Ferrise of Pittsburgh; one daughter Bridget (Brian) Pieniazek of Wintersville; two sisters Rosalie "Dolly" Falasca and Kathleen "Tootsie" DeLeonardis; and two grandchildren Brannt and Chloe Pieniazek.   

The family of Pete would like to thank the staff on the AU floor of Weirton Geriatric Center for the extraordinary care he received there. 

Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-6 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A vigil service will be held Sunday at 5:45 pm. A funeral liturgy will be held Monday 10 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, Msgr. Gerald Calovini will celebrate. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
