Sheila H. Ziarko, 79, of Steubenville passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at her home, surrounded by her children. She was born September 18, 1938 in Steubenville. She’s the daughter of the late Frederick and Amelia (Pagani) Harris. Preceding Sheila in death, are her husband Alex J. Ziarko and her brother Frederick Harris, Jr.
Sheila was a beloved parishioner of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. With a lifelong love of singing and music, she will fondly be remembered as a valued member of St. Paul’s choir. She took great joy in being a part of the Altar Guild, and was a reader for Mass as well. In addition, Sheila served for many years on the church’s Vestry as Senior Warden.
Sheila had a tremendous love of animals, and did whatever she could to provide for homeless dogs and cats throughout her life. Sheila was very artistic and creative, loving sewing, decorating, and gardening. She was a great cook and loved to bake.
Surviving are four daughters Alexis Pace of Steubenville, Sheila Ziarko of Steubenville, Amy DiGiacomo of Steubenville and Lora (Patrick) Orenchuk of Burgettstown; her long time companion John Boni; two grandchildren Jessica (Jim) Zorbini, Sarah Ziarko and her great grandchild Amelia.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral mass will be held on Friday at 10 am at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Fr. Steven McKeown will be the celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Steubenville.
