Barbara J. Mottice

Barbara J. Mottice, 92, of Wintersville died Wednesday August 11, 2021 at the Carriage Inn of Steubenville. She was born in Lancaster, Ohio in 1929 and moved to Steubenville as a teenager. She was a life- long  member of Zion United Church of Christ in Steubenville where she taught Sunday School many years ago. She was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting, gardening, bowling, and football games both local and college, especially Ohio State.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Freida Cook, her brother, James Cook, and her husband of  68 years, James A. Mottice. Barbara is survived by her sister, Mary Ann Mazarak of Oneonta NY; her  three children- Robert J Mottice (Nora McCarthy) of Chattanooga TN, Susan (Duane) Soskey of Ellicott City MD, and Barbara A. Mottice (Husband Brian Fendly) of Anacortes WA. Also surviving are two grandsons, Brian and Kevin Soskey, and two great-grandchildren, Tenley and Austin Soskey and six nieces and nephews.

A private internment will be held at Union Cemetery. A memorial service and celebration of life for family and friends will be announced at a later date at the discretion of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Zion United Church of Christ, 139 North Fifth Street, Steubenville 43952.
