Benjamin Attilio DiFabbio, 72, of Springfield, TN, formerly of Mingo Jct. passed away April 27, 2023 surrounded by his loving family and friends, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born August 21, 1950 in Steubenville. he was the son of the late Sammy DiFabbio, Sr. and Lucy Qualtire DiFabbio of Mingo Junction, OH.
Ben graduated from Mingo High School, class of 1968. Ben was a buyer for the former Hub Department Store of Steubenville in the 70’s and was a phenomenal cake decorator/baker having worked at Gus’s Goodies for several years. Ben taught himself how to play the drums at an early age. He was a lifelong musician as a drummer and vocalist for several bands including Wild Cherry in the early 70’s, and later played with Messiah, Music Shop, and his own band Mingo. Upon moving to Nashville 30 years ago, he played in several bands in that area. He was also a composer and song writer.
Surviving are his wife, Leslie Hallock DiFabbio; five step children who called Ben a “step up dad”, Stephanie Jones, Josiah Jones, Philip Jones, Angela Jones, and Nicole Jones. Six step grandchildren Jada, Leah, Haley, Dawn, Rayshawn and Victoria and his beloved dog, Luci. Also surviving, a sister, Rebecca Garretson of FL, twin brother, Alexander (Susie) DiFabbio, Sr. of Wintersville, and twin brothers Samuel (Marianne ) DiFabbio,Jr. of Steubenville, and Sanford DiFabbio of Mingo Junction and partner (Rita Raymer). Also surviving, nephews, Lester Garretson, Samuel (Kelly) DiFabbio III, Michael (Jill) DiFabbio, and A.J. DiFabbio. Per Ben’s wishes there will be no visitation.
