Carmel P. "Dolly" Senatore

Carmel P. “Dolly” Senatore, 92, of Steubenville, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2024 in Westlake, OH. She was born August 9, 1932 in Mingo Jct. She is the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Cashioli Fortunato. She is also preceded in death by her husband Anthony Senatore; brother Samuel Fortunato; two sisters Marianne Blanc, Shirley Fortunato, brother in law Art Blanc and granddaughter Athena Elizabeth Senatore.

Carmel was a graduate of Wheeling Hospital School of Nursing. She then went on to work at Ohio Valley Hospital. She was the head nurse at a hospital in Long Island, New York for three years. When she returned to Ohio, she was hired by Titanium Metals Corporation as the first industrial nurse. She worked there for 14 years. She was a private duty nurse for many years after. Carmel was also a member of Triumph of the Cross Parish. 

Surviving are son Craig (Allyson) Senatore; sister Judith Fortunato; nephews, Art Blanc and Greg (Beth) Blanc; nieces, Ronna (Marty) Cernelich and Beth (David) Scott; three grandchildren Corwin, Arya and Ethan Senatore and great nieces and nephews, Ryan, Michael, Danielle Blanc; Kaitlyn and Brady Cernelich; Kara and David Scott; Berkeley and Gregory Blanc. 

Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 am until 11:30 am at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral liturgy with Mass will follow at 12:00 pm at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Fr. Matthew Gossett will celebrate. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
