Carolyn Sue Hook

Carolyn Sue Hook, 81, of Steubenville died Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at the Carriage Inn. She was born March 5, 1945 in Steubenville. She is the daughter of the late John and Margaret Scanlon Hook. Carolyn is also preceded in death by her sisters Helen Haglund and Arlene Simpkins.  

Carolyn was a retired teacher, where she worked in Hancock County Schools for many years. She was a graduate of Steubenville Catholic Central High School class of 1963, also a graduate of Ohio State University and West Virginia University.

Surviving are her siblings John Hook of Algonquin, IL and Marian Schulz of Chicago, IL.

Carolyn will be cremated, and her remains will be buried in Union Cemetery at a later date.
