Charles Andrew (Andy) Adrian, 76, of Steubenville passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2021 at Trinity West. In the recent years, Andy has been battling with heart issues, diabetes ,among other ailments, which, combined, ultimately won the battle. He is the son of the late Jaunita (Toots) and Charles (Chuck) Adrian. Andy was born on D-Day, June 6, 1944 in Norfolk, Virginia and grew up in Brilliant, Ohio. He also played college football for Marshall university where he graduated from in 1967.
Andy is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Janice DiFederico Adrian; their two daughters, Beth (Scott) Egan and Andalyn (Matt Gerega) Adrian; two grandsons, Ryan and Sam Egan; three step grand-children, John, Crosby, and Reese Gerega; his brother Pete (Chris) Adrian. Andy was also blessed with multiple nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
Through the years, Andy responded to many titles including Big A, coach Adrian, Mr A, uncle Andy, papap, brother, husband, dad, and even the occasional “yo Adrian.” When he was not coaching or watching sports, you could find him in the woods riding his ATVs, hunting for man-eating squirrels or turkeys, or setting up his beloved cabin he referred to as “The Hilton.”
Andy kept his family and friends laughing through the years with his sense of humor and consummate practical jokes. He will be forever known for his love of cigars, football, family, and a little coffee with his cream. There was never any question about where one stood with Andy and you could always depend on him. He will be missed.
