Charles Groves Obituary

Charles J. Groves, 75, of Steubenville died Sunday, November 6, 2022 at the Carriage Inn of Steubenville. He was born August 9, 1947 in Martins Ferry, OH. He is the son of the late Charles and Teresa Connoly Groves. He is also preceded in death by his wife Maryann Roszczyk Groves; sisters Patricia “Patty Lou” Skukan and Nancy Groves; brother Billy “Bubba” Groves and Nephew Justin West.

Charles was retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel where he worked many years. Charles loved music and playing his guitar. He was a graduate of Bellaire St. John’s Catholic School and was a member of the Ohio State Highway Patrol Auxiliary. He also served his country in the US Army Reserves.

Surviving are son Chuck (Melissa) Groves of Nashville; daughter Lori (Henry) Taglione of Steubenville; four grandchildren Caroline & Conner Groves and Bella & Leah Taglione; sister Maryann (Max) West; brother Jimmy Groves; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Charles’ wishes there will be no visitation and services will be held at the convenience of the family.
