Clara Camerlengo, age 98, daughter of Stefania and Vincente Kalicinski passed away peacefully on August 15, 2021. She was born July 30, 1923 in Steubenville, OH.
She was preceded in death by her husband Larry “Chillo” Camerlengo, her sisters Ida Saggio, Mary Serafine, Sophie Sayer, brothers Cas “Nova” Kalicinski, Anthony and Walter “Tuffy” Surell. She was the last surviving child of Stefania and Vincente Kalicinski.
Clara is survived by two sons: Larry (Mary) of North Carolina, and Dominic of California. She leaves three grandsons: Fargo (Alicia), Dante’ (Mindy), and Derek (Erin). She had eight great grandchildren: Chelsea, Segundo, Santino, Sequoia, Fargo John, Clara, Matteo and Abigail. Clara also had two great-great grandsons, Nathan and Luka. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Clara loved bingo, crocheting, casinos and enjoyed many years with the Greek Rum Club. She loved Steubenville Week at Geneva-On- The-Lake every summer, and all her friends from South Street.
Most of all, Clara loved spending time with her family. She was well known for her wonderful cooking such as making homemade pasta, and her specialty, cabbage rolls.
She belonged to Holy Family Church, the Catholic Women’s Club, and the St. Francis Society.
A funeral liturgy with mass will be held Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church at 2:00 PM. Internment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
