Clyde A. Morelli, 97, of Steubenville died Friday, November 10, 2023 at Bolger Country Club Manor. He was born November 26, 1925 in Steubenville. Clyde is the son of the late Antonio and Lena Carrara Morelli. He is also preceded in death by three brothers Benjamin, Geno and Tony Morelli.
Clyde was a loving husband and father, fun loving and well known and loved in the community. Clyde was an original founding member of Morelli Brothers Block & Brick where he was President until retiring in his early 60's. He was also a long time member of Steubenville Country Club and the Fun Seekers. Clyde also enjoyed watching Notre Dame sports and supported all local high school sports. He was an avid sportsman playing golf, tennis, volleyball, softball and bowling. Clyde was also involved with coaching both baseball and basketball for Aquinas Elementary School as well as baseball for both little league and Babe Ruth in Wintersville in his younger days.
He was a member of Triumph of the Cross Parish and served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
Surviving are his wife Mary O’Malley Morelli, whom he married July 9, 1955; one son Clyde L. (Robin) Morelli of Wheeling; one daughter Marlene (Frank) Robbins of Belchertown, MA. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 12-3pm pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Monday at 11:30 am at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Fr. Matthew Gossett will celebrate. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
