Darene D. Waszkiewicz

Darene D. Waszkiewicz, 78, of Steubenville died Sunday, November 3, 2024 at Trinity West. She was born August 27, 1946 in Wheeling, WV. She is the daughter of the late Thomas Straka and Norma Lowe Peck. She is also preceded in death by her brother Keith Straka.

Darene was retired from the former Ohio Valley Hospital where she was the secretary to the pharmacy department also from the state of Ohio as an unemployment customer service agent. She was a graduate of Steubenville High School class of 1964. Darene was also a member of Starkdale Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are her husband Raymond, whom she married on May 23, 1970; her twin sister Darla (David “Pokey”) Lalich of Steubenville; nephews David, Michael and Brian and niece Michelle.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10 am until time of services at 1 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. Burial will follow in Fort Steuben Burial Estates. Rev. Carl Moore will officiate.
