David B. Phillipson Jr.

David B. Phillipson Jr., 81, of Wintersville died Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Valley Hospice. He was born August 29, 1936 in Steubenville. He is the son of the late David and Laura Panella Phillipson Sr. He is also preceded in death by his daughter Therese Gorman. 

David was retired from Weirton Steel where he worked in the by products dept. He also served his country in U.S. Army during the Korean War. 

Surviving are his wife Ruth Conlon Phillipson, whom he married October 16, 1961; two daughters Rhonda  (Lanny) Erdos of New Athens and Patty (Mark) Handlovitch of Moon Twp.; three brothers Joseph Phillipson of Kentucky, Billy (Berna) Phillipson of Ohio and Michael Phillipson of Columbus; two sisters Betty Del Rosa of Macedonia, OH and Mary Lou (Robert) Valdes of Tampa, FL; six grandchildren Courtney, Jordan, Trevor, Eric, Shane, David; two great grandchildren Kenley and Kade.

Calling hours will be Friday from 6 - 8 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 am at the funeral home, Fr. Michael Gossett will officiate. Burial will be private.
