Delanore "Dell" Howell

Delanore “Dell” Howell, 88, of Steubenville, passed away on Friday December 6, 2024 peacefully at home. She was born March 4, 1936 In Steubenville, daughter of the late Irene Vergits Maistros and Mike Maistros.

She was a proud graduate of Steubenville Catholic Central High School and member of Triumph of the Cross Parish. Dell worked for The Hub of Steubenville department store, Trinity West Hospital business office, and Steel Valley ER physicians.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Curtis Howell Sr, stepson Curtis Howell Jr, Brothers: Joe, Chris, and George Vergits, Sisters: Rose Johnson, Liberty Vergits, Connie Mavromatis, and Angel Lupinetti. Also her beloved dog Sarge.

Surviving are her sister and caretaker Athena Nation, dogs Leo and Ike and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and several great-great nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church from 11:00 am until the time of the time of funeral mass at 12:00 pm, Fr. Matthew Gossett will celebrate. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
