Donald John Kissinger, Jr., 87, of Steubenville, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Charleen Kissinger; his brother, Peter Kissinger; his infant daughter, Anne Clare; and his daughter-in-law, Linda.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Maureen (McAndrew); his children, Maureen (Bill) Schlich, Donald, Michael (Denise), Mark (Ana), Tara (Toby) Brown, and Brian (Courtney); 36 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Charleen, Cathi, John, and Jim.
Don was born in Teaneck, NJ. After graduating from college, he served three years in the United States Marine Corps. He worked in New York City before moving to Steubenville to chair the business department at the then College of Steubenville, where he retired after 25 years of teaching.
He was a member of Holy Family Parish and the Community of God's Love in Steubenville. The family is grateful to the staff of Southern Care Hospice and the staff of Carriage Inn of Steubenville for their loving care, as well as to all the family and friends who supported us along this road.
Visitation will be held Friday from 4-7 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral liturgy with Mass will be held Saturday at 9:30 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, Fr. Drake McAlister will celebrate. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
