Edward Hugo Pestian, 88, of Steubenville, OH, was reunited with his wife on what would have been their 69th wedding anniversary, February 26th, 2018. Edward was born in Youngstown, OH, on September 23, 1929, to the late Fred and Mina Pestian. After graduating from Catholic Central High School in 1947, Ed married his high school sweetheart, Dolores Casey, on February 26, 1949, a union that lasted 66 years until Dolores’ passing on Friday, April 3, 2015, in Sarasota, FL. Ed led a life of joy and quiet service. He served his church with unwavering support. He served his family as a dedicated father whose love and commitment was a wellspring of inspiration. He served his friends with loyalty and stalwart commitment. He served his community as a tireless entrepreneur and founder of Vapor Jet. Ed also served his country as a member of the United States Army stationed in Fort Knox, KY. In 1990, upon request of Bishop Albert Ottenweller, Pope John Paul II bestowed on Ed the Cross Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice in recognition of his distinguished service to the Dioceses of Steubenville and the Catholic Church. In addition to his parents and his wife, Ed was preceded in death by his son, Edward J. Pestian, granddaughters, Maria Hope Pestian and Michelle McKinstry, his brother Fred and sisters Elsie and Amelia. Ed is survived by a daughter, Monica McKinstry of Steubenville and four sons: Timothy (Gina) of Toronto, OH, Kevin (Anita) of Sarasota, FL, Dr. John (Sheri) of Cincinnati, OH, and Michael D of Sarasota, FL. In addition to his children he is survived by 13 grandchildren: Ed Pestian, Renee Suhr, Bruce McKinstry, Ryan Pestian, Amber Pestian, Stephen Pestian, Michael D. Pestian II, Timmy Pestian, David Pestian, Grace Pestian Shea, Elliot Pestian, Teresa Pestian, and Paul Pestian; and eight great-grandchildren: Alec and Ethan Pestian, Mia and Ella McKinstry, Mia Pestian, Tim (Tre) Pestian Michael D. Pestian III and Cassius Pestian.
