Elaine Hall Obituary

Elaine M. Hall, nee Lamantia, age 75, died peacefully on Monday, April 26, 2021, after a brief illness.  She was born on March 6, 1946 in Steubenville, Ohio, the daughter of W. Tony and Margaret Lamantia and Jack and Lucy Easter.

A 1964 graduate of Catholic Central High School and a 1968 graduate of the College of Steubenville with a BS in Education, she taught first grade for more than 40 years at Jefferson Elementary in Follansbee, West Virginia.

A dedicated educator, Elaine was a long-time member of the National Education Association, a five-time Teacher of the Year, a member of the Alpha Phi Kappa Professional Sorority, a former Vice President of the Brooke County Education Association, and an eight-time delegate to the National Education Association state convention.  Her love of teaching and commitment to her students made her beloved by generations of Jefferson students.

She was a faithful supporter of her husband Donald’s membership in the Knights of Columbus for more than 40 years.  During Donald’s many tenures from Grand Knight of Council 472 to Vice Supreme Master of the Fr. Hennepin Province, she volunteered her time, energy, and talent at local, district, state, and national levels.  She worked tirelessly to organize and host functions and events in support of a variety of charity projects.  She believed deeply in a life of service to God, family, and community, and her devotion to the Knights was an inspiration to many.

Elaine will be deeply missed by her beloved husband of 52 years, Donald; her daughters, Susan Hall of Wintersville, OH and Michelle Hall Kay (Les) of Cincinnati, OH; her sister, Dolores Vernarsky (Tom), of Newburgh, IN; her grandchildren Daemon, Daniel, and Kaytlin Hall; and her great-grandson, Jackson Hall.

She was preceded in death by her parents W. Tony and Margaret (Antinone) Lamantia and Jack and Lucy (Antinone) Easter.

We love you to the moon and back.
