Obituary
Electra Chrousakis Vounousakis, 79, of Steubenville passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Cherry Blossom Senior Living in Columbus, OH. Electra was born in Nenita, Chios Greece on April 20, 1943 to the late Mihalis and Angeliki Chrousakis. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Michael "Mike" P. Vounousakis, and her brother Demostenis Chrousakis.
Electra is survived by her children, daughter Desy of Reynoldsburg, OH and son Peter (Alesha) of Tampa, FL, sisters Diana Tsanaktsi and Lemonia Fotiou of Athens, Greece as well as many loving nieces, nephews and extended family. Electra was a loving wife, mother and friend to all.
Electra's gift with a needle and thread made her talents as a seamstress frequently sought out by many in the community. Sewing was her passion and she often volunteered her time to make the children's costumes at her beloved Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, where she was a member. She was also a member of the Philoptochos Society and the Chian Society.
Calling hours are Sunday 2-5 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, Steubenville and on Monday at Holy Trinity from 10 am until the times of services at 11 am. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery.
