Filomena DiMarzo

Filomena (Carfora) DiMarzo, 91, passed away on December 18, 2020 at Trinity Medical Center West. Filomena was born on April 6, 1929 in Santa Maria-a-Vico, Italy. She immigrated to the United States in 1969 with her husband and two small children. They made their home in Steubenville, Ohio. She was a long time member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, and a current member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She was a homemaker who loved cooking and spending time with her family. She was a resident of Gables Care Center in Hopedale, Ohio where she enjoyed partaking in their various social activities. Preceding Filomena in death are her parents Giovanni and Carolina DeLucia Carfora; her husband, Vincenzo, whom she married on December 5, 1965, as well as her brothers Biaggio Carfora and Domenico Carfora of Italy and Francesco Carfora of Leetonia, Ohio; and sisters Caterina DeFrancesco and Giovanna Carfora of Italy and Vincenza Savinell of Steubenville, Ohio. Filomena is survived by her children Giuseppina “Josephine” (Robert) Comisso and Sabatino (Jennifer) DiMarzo, both of Steubenville. Also surviving are her grandchildren Christina (Christopher) Vogagis and Anthony Comisso, and her sisters Antoinetta Crisci and Assunta Sposito and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be 10AM-12PM on Monday, December 28, 2020 at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd, Steubenville. A funeral liturgy with mass will follow at 12:30 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Steubenville celebrated by Msgr. Gerald E. Calovini. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
