Fr. Basil Corriere

Fr. Basil Corriere, er. cam., passed away Sunday morning, May 28th, 2023 at Holy Family Hermitage in Bloomingdale. He was Born on December 11th 1946 in Allentown, PA to Dr. Alex and Catherine Horon Corriere. He is also predeceased by his Brother In-Law, Robert F. Nelson and Sister In-Law, Connie Corriere

He graduated from Boston University in 1965.  He taught math in Punta Gorda, FL for two years, entered religious life at Immaculate Heart of Mary Hermitage in Big Sur, CA in September 1972. He left in 1976 to enter The Camaldolese Hermits of Monte Corona at Holy Family Hermitage in Bloomingdale, Ohio. He was ordained to The Priesthood in 1987. He was named Prior in 1994 and remained in that office until His Death.

He is survived by his sister, Carol C. Nelson, of Carrollton GA, and his brothers, Alfred N. (“Al”) Corriere (Carolyn), of Albany GA, and Leonard W. (“Len”) Corriere, of Carrollton GA, as well as 13 nephews and nieces, their spouses as they have them, and a number of great-nephews and -nieces.
