In Loving Memory of Francesca Osso

Francesca, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful servant of God, passed away peacefully at the age of 97, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, sacrifice, and devotion to her family. 

Born in Longobardi, Province of Cosenza, Calabria, Italy, she came to America in search of the American dream with her husband and family. With courage, hope, and a strong work ethic, she embraced her new country and built a beautiful life rooted not in wealth or worldly things, but in family, faith, and love. She carried with her the traditions, values, and faith of her homeland and passed them lovingly to the generations who followed.

She shared 66 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Giuseppe (Joe) Osso, a hardworking and humble patriarch who lived a simple life and took great pride in providing for his family. Though she lost him 19 years ago, the love and memories they shared remained an enduring part of her heart. She is also preceded in death by her parents Bonaventura and Rosa Pulice. 

Francesca was a woman of deep Catholic faith. Her devotion to God and to the Blessed Virgin Mary was woven into the very fabric of her life. She trusted in the Lord through times of joy and sorrow and found strength in prayer, the Sacraments, and the traditions of her Catholic faith. Her life reflected the quiet, selfless love of our Blessed Mother, gentle, steadfast, faithful, and always centered on her family.

She modeled what it means to love as a mother: with patience, tenderness, sacrifice, and an unwavering presence. Her greatest treasures were not material possessions, but the people she loved. Her home was a place of warmth, family, tradition, and faith. Through her example, she taught her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren that a meaningful life is built through love, hard work, faith, and the simple blessings of each day.

At 97 years of age, Francesca leaves behind far more than memories. She leaves a legacy. Her children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren carry her strength and traditions; and all who knew her carry the imprint of her gentle love. She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law: Ben (Lucille) Osso and Lou (Kathy) Osso; four grandchildren: Lori (Jamie) Connor; Melissa Osso; BJ (Char) Osso; Jodee (Shaun) Arthurs; seven great- grandchildren: AJ (fiancée Olivia) Connor; Luca (Carly) Connor; Peyton Osso; Angelina, Gianna, Nico Osso; and Frankie Arthurs; sister-in-law: Anna Pate. 

We give thanks to God for the gift of her long life and for the privilege of having loved her. We entrust her now to the loving arms of our Lord and to the care of the Blessed Virgin Mary, whom she so faithfully honored throughout her life.

May she rest in eternal peace, and pray she is reunited with her beloved husband and welcomed into the presence of the God she loved and served so faithfully.

Requiem aeternam dona eis, Domine, et lux perpetua luceat eis. Requiescant in pace. Amen.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen

The family would like to thank Valley Hospice and nurses Amanda and Ladonna for the outstanding care that they provided. 

Family and friends will be received on Friday, August 21st from 3-6pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, 4435 Sunset Blvd, Steubenville. Funeral mass will be Saturday, August 22nd at 10 am at Holy Family Parish, Steubenville. Father Drake McCalister will celebrate. Burial to follow at Mt Calvary Cemetery.
