Helen “Betty” S. Ward, 99, of Steubenville died Sunday, April 26, 2020 at Wyngate Senior Living Community, of natural causes. She was born September 6, 1920 in Steubenville. She is the daughter of the late William and Mary Ellen Laugherty Singer. She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Ward and half brother Harry Singer.

Helen was retired from Steubenville City Schools where she taught at Harding Middle School for many years. She was a long time member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.

Surviving are nephew Harry W. Singer; great niece Marcia (John, M.D.) Kagay and great nephew Mark (Renee) Singer.

Private services were held Thursday and burial followed in Union Cemetery.
