Ida S. Koehrsen

Ida Sue (Susie) Kimple-Koehrsen, age 73, Went to her eternal Heavenly rest on July 30, 2024 at The Laurels nursing facility after a long and valiant battle with Lewy-Body Dementia.  She was a loving and loyal best friend to her husband, Jack, and a devoted mother to her children, Erich (Lindsey) Koehrsen of Knoxville, TN, and Jennifer Koehrsen of Pittsburgh, PA.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Marie Kimple, her brother Wilbert, and an infant grandson Matthew.  She is survived by one brother, Leonard (Miriam) Kimple.

Susie and Jack have been together since the age of 19, and have been married for 51 years. Susie is a 1968 graduate of Moundsville High School and was a retired church secretary who worked for many years at Grace Lutheran church where she started and managed their Food Pantry.  She also served as secretary at St. Mark Lutheran church as well as Two Ridge Presbyterian Church.  Susie was a Master Gardener Who spent endless hours lovingly tending her beautiful flower gardens.  She was also an avid reader who would often consume a book a day, and her iced tea by the gallon.

Susie will be sadly missed by family and friends, alike.  There will be no visitation but a celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Susie has requested that memorial donations be made in her honor to any no-kill animal shelter.
