Joanne D. Pedersen

Joanne D. Pedersen, 74, of Bloomingdale passed away peacefully on Friday, January 23, 2026 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital with her daughter by her side. She was born February 19, 1951 in Steubenville. She is the daughter of the late Frank and Domenica “Minnie” (Quattrone) Prolago. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Dino Prolago.

Joanne was a 1969 graduate of Steubenville High School and retired from the Jefferson County Highway Department, where she worked for many years as a secretary. She was a devoted mother and, above all else, cherished her role as “Nanna.”

Joanne is survived by her son Frank (Courtney) Pedersen of Follansbee; daughter Courtney (Eddie) Bearnot of Providence, Rhode Island; three grandchildren Frank and Kennedy Pedersen, and Ophelia Jo Bearnot; brothers Cosmo (Renee) Prolago of Steubenville and Frank Prolago of Cocoa Beach, Florida; sisters Marie Zumpano of Steubenville and Patricia Prolago of Brilliant; sister-in-law Anne (Boehm) Prolago; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 31 from 10 am until time of services at 12:30 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. Fr. Michael Gossett will officiate. Burial will be held privately in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
