John V. Davis

John V. Davis, 64, of Steubenville died Saturday, August 5, 2023, surrounded by family John passed away after a long valiant battle with cancer.

John was born July 11, 1958, to the late Glen Robert and Rita Davis of Steubenville. He is also proceeded in death by an infant sister Jeanette Davis, maternal and paternal grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.

John was a 1976 graduate of Steubenville Catholic Central. Immediately after his graduation he fulfilled his lifelong dream of joining the United States Army. He served proudly in England, Germany, Hawaii, and many other places in the United States but his proudest moment was when he was able to serve in Saudi Arabia during Desert Storm. John returned home in 1992. After returning home he enjoyed driving for various companies the last being TransMart in Brilliant, OH.

John is survived by a son in Germany; four brothers Glenn Robert Jr. (Freda) of Las Vegas NV, William (Diana) of Glendale AZ, Kenneth (Penny) of Steubenville, Dominic (Rebecca) of Columbus OH; two sisters Mary Ann (Clarance) Loy of Riverside California and Dolores (Scott) Paul of Steubenville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Being an avid sports fan, he enjoyed watching The Ohio State Buckeyes, Dallas Cowboys, and his all-time favorite the Cincinnati Reds.

Visitation will be held Friday from 10 am until time of services at 1 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. Fr. Mathhew Gossett will officiate and burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
