John Tressler

John “Dick” “Gronk” Tressler, 81, of Wintersville died Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Trinity Hospital. He was born May 24, 1944 in Steubenville. He is the son of the late Earl and Burdena  Baker Tressler. He is also preceded in death by daughter Burdena; brothers George and Jim Tressler and sister Faye.

John was retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel where he worked in the BOF for many years. He was also a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.

Surviving are his wife Alex Sandonas Tressler, whom he married October 26, 1986; two sons James “Bo” Tressler of Weirton and John Tressler of Wintersville; brothers Jack (Pauline) Tressler of Lisbon, OH and William (Sandy) Tressler of New Alexandria, OH; sisters Dorothy (Rick) Pierpoint of Tiltonsville, OH and Lydia; six grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 9, from 10 a.m. until time of services at 12 p.m. at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Entombment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
