Joseph Thomas Sobolewski

Joseph Thomas Sobolewski, 84, of Steubenville, died Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at the Ohio Living Sarah Moore in Delaware. He was born November 6, 1940 in Steubenville to the late John and Hattie Humienny Sobolewski. He is also preceded in death by his wife Paula Kay Trussell Sobolewski; brothers Frank and Stanley Patrick Sobolewski; sister Regina Polinski.

Joe was retired from Weirton Steel where he worked for many years. He was a graduate of Steubenville Catholic Central High School Class of 1958 and the College of Steubenville. Joe was a member of the Polish National Alliance, American Legion Post 33 and the Polish Athletic Club. Joe also served his country in the United States Army Reserves. Joe was known for his daily routines, his straightforward demeanor and his love of golf. In his later years, he enjoyed feeding his birds, attending fitness classes, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Surviving are his children John (Korry) Sobolewski of Delaware, Susan (John) McKean of Delaware and Cassandra “Casey” (Gregory) of Graham of Index, WA; grandchildren Josephine  Kay McKean, John Arthur “Jack” McKean and Howard Joseph Graham; siblings John (Barbara) Sobolewski, Mary Ann Sobolewski and Michael (Tracey) Sobolewski; sister in laws Harriett Sobolewski and Darlene (John) Allen; brother in law William Polinski and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 10 am until time of services at 12 pm at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
