Juanita (Tice) Cooley Panebianco

Juanita (Tice) Cooley Panebianco, 93, of Steubenville died Tuesday August 11, 2020 at Gables Care Center. She was born March 12, 1927 in Steubenville to the late Emory and Ada Boyd Tice.

Juanita was a Steubenville native, a talented organist, and music teacher. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 42 years, Louis Cooley (1985), her second husband of 7 years, Louis Panebianco (2001) and grandson Chris Cooley.

She is survived by her two sons, Randy (Susan) Cooley of Irondale and Rusty (Karen) Cooley of Wintersville; daughter Robin (Steve) Bliss of Vandalia, OH; five grandchildren Kathy Cooley Paulman, Jeff Cooley, Matt Cooley, Emily Bliss Hendrickson, and Rusty Cooley. Juanita also had 12 great grandchildren.

Juanita began singing at the age of two on Steubenville’s first radio station, WIBR. She was also educated in piano and organ. Juanita began playing piano at her church for Sunday school at the age of nine. She continued her musical education at the Pittsburgh Musical Institute, West Liberty College and private study with Julian Williams, President of Westminster Choir College of Sewickley, PA.

Juanita’s professional musical career spanned 52 years. She was the church organist at Grace Lutheran Church of Steubenville from 1958 to 1975, and Covenant Presbyterian Church of Steubenville from 1975 to 2010. In addition, Juanita was employed by Gerrero Music of Steubenville for 34 years. She taught piano and organ to many students into her 80’s. She participated in hundreds of weddings and other musical events in the Ohio Valley throughout her career, sharing her talents into her 90’s. She will be greatly missed.
